China rescued Italian navy
Could be a story from the old times but it’s breaking news: China rescued an Italian merchant ship from Somali pirates.
On February 26 near the Gulf of Aden, two yachts seized the Italian merchant ship “Lia”. At 10:30 am, the destroyer “Haikou” replies to the S.O.S. sent from “Lia”, reports Xinhua agency.
Somali pirates immediately ran away after two Chinese helicopters fired two warning flares.
Somali pirates hijacked several ships in the Gulf of Aden though anti pirate task forces frequently watched the area.
