Far from Okinawa Seashore: Oil, Weapons, Spies and Business across China and USA (Laterza Press) is the new book to understand Chinese policy towards USA and Africa.

The book was written jointly by two Italian experts: Alessandro Spaventa, economist and international law expert and Salvatore Monni, Development Economy Lecturer. Their approach starts from the analysis of China’s presence in Africa. This analysis shows the difference between European Colonialism and China approach towards Africa. Chinese government in Africa is building roads, telecommunication networks, railways, is bringing new medicines, is launching new satellites but no imposition are made over local governments.

The book is interesting and easy to read also by non expert readers and covers a wide range of topics: Chinese economy growth, the relations with USA, Chinese nuclear weapons, Taiwan issue and military espionage.

Interviewed by Red Tv, the authors reported of stories explaining why the Chinese competitor has only 300 millions-out of 13 billions of the total population-to enjoy the benefits of Chinese growth.
